Cheap Blackpool Hotels

Looking For Cheap Blackpool Hotels?

Cheap Blackpool Hotels
Whether your visit to Blackpool is for business or pleasure, if you are looking for cheap Blackpool hotels, then you are in the right place. Blackpool has such a large range of accommodation – over 3,000 hotels, bed and breakfasts and guesthouses in total - that it can be hard to make your mind up. But we can help you find the best cheap hotels in and around Blackpool.

The cheaper end of the hotel market are mainly “guest houses” and B&Bs. The advantages of these smaller places is that you get a friendly service, usually from the owner and family and it can be more like staying with friends than in a hotel. Some people prefer this, others opt for the more impersonal style of a larger hotel. We look at both here.
So what do you call a cheap hotel? To one person "cheap" might signify under £60 a night, whereas others might be looking at beds in the £20 a night range. Most of the hotels we looked at were in the £30-£40 price bracket for a couple in a double room with breakfast. Although many of the larger and more expensive hotels charge much more than this, you can often get special offers and off-season breaks which are much less than the rate card. These are the type of cheap hotel rooms we prefer to go for. Getting more for less is always better than paying less for not-as-good facilities.

How To Find The Cheapest Blackpool Hotels

  • Location can make a big difference to the price of a hotel. For example, a seaview on Princess Parade is always going to cost more than a room on the edge of town overlooking a row of shops. If you are prepared to moce away from the centre of Blackpool, there are plenty of bargains to be had.
  • All of the national discount chains have sites in Blackpool, though don't expect the same price as if you were staying next to the motorway service in the middle of nowhere. The advantages are that their facilities are good and generally they are good value for money - even in Blackpool in August. The Travelodge chain is perhaps best known as a destination for sales- and  business-people travelling up and down the country. Travelodge has three separate Blackpool destinations. One in the middle, the other two hanging south. The Premier Inn chain is also well represented and, overall, is my first choice when staying away.
  • As we've already said, look for special offers and off-season breaks at higher class hotels. If you can avoid weekends and the busy periods there are lots of bargains to be had. The secret is to stay flexible and go for the best deal rather than try and slot what deals there are into your schedule.
  • Look for a small B&B or family-run guest house. There are literally thousands of them in the Blackpool area. I usually start by looking on a review site, such as TripAdvisor and seeing which ones get the best reviews. But don't go by these alone - many of them are written by absolute nutters and people with an axe to grind.
