Reno, Nevada, has been called "The Biggest Little City in the World", and that's no lie. Aside from casinos and nightlife, Reno is the birthplace of the Harrah's Entertainment gaming corporation and hosts a number of major worldwide events. They include the classic car convention Hot August Nights; a similar event for motorcycle fans called Street Vibrations, a Cinco de Mayo celebration, Great Reno Balloon Race, the Best In The West Nugget Rib Cook-off (held in neighbouring Sparks), bowling tournaments, and the Reno Air Races.
Interesting fact #1: People who live there are called "Reno-ites".
Practically unrelenting entertainment is available at Reno from nightlife and casinos to live music, fine dining and lots of great shopping. Several sports teams call Reno home, including the Reno Aces and the Reno Bighorns.
