Cheap Blackpool Hotels

Looking For Cheap Blackpool Hotels?

Cheap Blackpool Hotels
Whether your visit to Blackpool is for business or pleasure, if you are looking for cheap Blackpool hotels, then you are in the right place. Blackpool has such a large range of accommodation – over 3,000 hotels, bed and breakfasts and guesthouses in total - that it can be hard to make your mind up. But we can help you find the best cheap hotels in and around Blackpool.

The cheaper end of the hotel market are mainly “guest houses” and B&Bs. The advantages of these smaller places is that you get a friendly service, usually from the owner and family and it can be more like staying with friends than in a hotel. Some people prefer this, others opt for the more impersonal style of a larger hotel. We look at both here.
So what do you call a cheap hotel? To one person "cheap" might signify under £60 a night, whereas others might be looking at beds in the £20 a night range. Most of the hotels we looked at were in the £30-£40 price bracket for a couple in a double room with breakfast. Although many of the larger and more expensive hotels charge much more than this, you can often get special offers and off-season breaks which are much less than the rate card. These are the type of cheap hotel rooms we prefer to go for. Getting more for less is always better than paying less for not-as-good facilities.

How To Find The Cheapest Blackpool Hotels

  • Location can make a big difference to the price of a hotel. For example, a seaview on Princess Parade is always going to cost more than a room on the edge of town overlooking a row of shops. If you are prepared to moce away from the centre of Blackpool, there are plenty of bargains to be had.
  • All of the national discount chains have sites in Blackpool, though don't expect the same price as if you were staying next to the motorway service in the middle of nowhere. The advantages are that their facilities are good and generally they are good value for money - even in Blackpool in August. The Travelodge chain is perhaps best known as a destination for sales- and  business-people travelling up and down the country. Travelodge has three separate Blackpool destinations. One in the middle, the other two hanging south. The Premier Inn chain is also well represented and, overall, is my first choice when staying away.
  • As we've already said, look for special offers and off-season breaks at higher class hotels. If you can avoid weekends and the busy periods there are lots of bargains to be had. The secret is to stay flexible and go for the best deal rather than try and slot what deals there are into your schedule.
  • Look for a small B&B or family-run guest house. There are literally thousands of them in the Blackpool area. I usually start by looking on a review site, such as TripAdvisor and seeing which ones get the best reviews. But don't go by these alone - many of them are written by absolute nutters and people with an axe to grind.

There is a whole load more advice on our website: www.cheaphotelsblackpool.org. Come and visit us if you get the chance. It aims to give you the entire Blackpool hotel experience and make your stay a happy - and inexpensive - one.

The Seaport Hotel Boston is a great hotel, no doubt about that. But first, what do you know about Boston?
Founded in 1630 by puritan colonists from England, although these days Roman Catholics comprise the largest religious grouping, Boston is the capital city of Massachusetts in New England, and famous around the world for the “Tea Party” of 1773 which set the stage for the American War of Independence. Due to its costal location Boston soon emerged as a major seaport, and manufacturing centre, although these days much of the wealth of this city derives from high tech and medical research, plus Boston's position as a leading financial centre. Cheap Hotels Bangkok

When it comes to cheap hotels Bangkok has plenty, but not ones the western tourist would be comfortable staying in. Hotels catering to tourists tend to be relatively expensive: far better to look at other areas of Thailand. But, should you be sold on Bangkok as your destination, Best Hotel Booking is the place to come to find your cheap hotels Bangkok.
First, a few words about the city. As you'll probably know, Bangkok is the capital, and primary city of Thailand. Known in Thai as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon (or Krung Thep for short, meaning "city of angels"). During the Ayutthaya Kingdom, which existed from the mid-1300s to the late 18th century, it was a small trading post at the mouth of the Chao Phraya river. It became the capital of Siam in 1768 after the burning of Ayutthaya. The Rattanakosin era, which began in 1782, moved the capital across the river to the area called "Phra Nakhon", which is now incorporated into the modern city of Bangkok.
With a population of over six million, Bangkok has a diverse cultural and religious base. The most prevalent religion is Buddhism, which is practised by 95% of the population, with most of the rest Muslim and a smattering (less than 1%) Christian. Bangkok is full of temples and gardens to visit, as well as the much-advertised sex industry. It offers an interesting mix of old Thai culture and values with western-style commerciality.

Here is our pick of Cheap Hotel (Bangkok):

Sivalai Place
168 Isaraphab Soi 33 Isaraphab rd Thra Pra Bangkok-Yai Bangkok 10600 Thailand
More of an apartment house than a hotel, but great value all the same. They have smart studio apartments from 1,450 baht a night (less than $50) and double apartments are only 100 baht more. Beds are queen-size and the en suite bathrooms have shower panels with six massage jets along with hot water and everything else you'll need. The facilities are many, from tennis and karaoke to restaurants, cafés and a huge swimming pools with 'O-zone' non-chemical filtering system. Other facilities include a sauna, games room,  the "good karma" library and karaoke room. Recommended.

Silom City Hotel

The former Silom City Inn is conveniently located in Bangkok's business centre , close to all major shopping centres – like Siam Square, Siam Paragon, Platinum, MBK and the Pratunam district –  the world-famous (or should that be infamous?!) nightlife and entertainment establishments, including Suan Lum Night Bazaar and Patpong. It's also within a short hop of Suan Lumpini Park, the Bangkok Railway Terminal, and the Chao Phraya river . The Sky Train (BTS) is also within walking distance. Its 70 guest rooms come equipped with amenities like air-conditioning, personal safe, PC and fax connections, in-house music system, satellite colour TV and en suite bathroom. Weekly rates start from 1,150 baht a night (around $40) for a single room.

TakeANap

920-926 Rama4 Rd. (At Surawongse Junction, Opposite Red Cross Society), Silom District, Bangrak 10500, Thailand
The aptly named TakeANap is family-run but it's not for everybody. They offer a mix of single rooms, doubles and dorm beds from 350 baht a night ($12). Singles are around 1,000 baht ($34). Great for backpackers, not so good for business travellers or tourist families. The thirty single and double rooms have been designed and furnished in different theme, ranging from the garish What A World double to the child- (and drug-) friendly Friendly Forest. TakeANap is centrally located, only a few minutes walk from both the sky train(BTS) and subway(MRT). It's also close to the nightclubs, city center, and markets. Downsides are that rooms don't have wardrobes (but they do provide hangers) or refrigerators. And avoid the Pub room – it doesn't have a window!

Landmark Hotel London

The Landmark Hotel London is a luxury five-star hotel in Marylebone, a luxurious area of central London between Oxford Street and Regents Park. It has 300 rooms and suites and is a grade two listed building.  The hotel is great for international travellers, with complimentary newspapers in five languages and staff members who say they can speak a total of 47 languages. Multilingual indeed.
The room grades begin at superior and rise through luxury, deluxe and executive to family and suites. The decor throughout is in keeping with the hotel's Victorian origins, which plenty of antique furniture among the reproductions. Only a bona fide antiques dealer will be able to spot which is which.

You enter from Marylebone Road into a dramatic lobby flanked by stone arches. The hotel surround the Winter Garden atrium. For decor, think Victorian grandeur and Empire: bamboo chairs, palm trees and "Noel Coward" at the grand piano.
The Spa and Health Club has a swimming pool, spa (as you'd expect!), steam room and gym. Expect beauty treatments and massages that range from jetlag-killers to aromatherapy facials.

The Landmark Hotel London has a historic past. It first opened as The Great Central Hotel in 1899 and was the last of the great Victorian railway hotels that were built in the golden era of steam. Idealistic  businessman, Sir Edward Watkins, who dreamed of building a rail network linking his very own Great Central Train line to Europe through a Channel Tunnel terminating at Marylebone Station. Sadly, the Great Central Train line Company ran into monetary problems in 1895 before work on the hotel had started. Sir John Blundell Maple, of the furniture company Maples, agreed to purchase the site at a cost of 9d (4.5p) per square foot.
The new owners commissioned designer Robert William Edis, a great champion of the Gothic revival style. The hotel was laid out around a huge central courtyard,  into which carriages came to drop off guests at the centre of the hotel. This central courtyard (now the Winter Garden restaurant) was modified into a dance floor. But it was not to last. After the opulence and luxury of the Victorian era, the austerity that followed allowed no place for a grand hotel like the Landmark and it closed its doors.
It became a convalescent home during the Second World War, before becoming an office building for the military and then the headquarters of the British Railways Board, whose staff referred to it as "The Kremlin".
In 1985, the building was bought by a Japanese comopany and refurbishment work started. In 1995 what was now called the Regent London, was purchased by the Thai-owned Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company Limited and renamed The Landmark London.

There are several good Stanstead Airport Hotels and some offer great value deals. Lots of people have to drive to Stansted by car, so we've included information about hotel parking. All of the hotels we recommend have a place to keep your vehicle overnite and a few of them offer airport parking deals.
If you can select a place with a "park and fly" rate, you'll get an inclusive price that has a night's accommodation and (for example) a week parking. This usually costs less than you would have paid for parking alone at the official vehicle parks.

Here is our top four London Stanstead Airport Hotels:

Every bedroom is air-conditioned and has a flat screen TV with satellite, free wireless internet and laptop safes. For those with big or corporate budgets, suites come with a dining area, sitting area, and two separate bathrooms.

DeSalis Hotels London Stansted
Hall Road, Elsenham, Essex, CM22 6DR
Our PICK of the Stanstead Hotels. The DeSallis is a newly built, three-star hotel around five minutes from Stanstead Airport by shuttle bus. Free computers are available to use in the reception area and there'd free Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel.  This is a hotel with a lovely garden (a rare event in itself!)  that's well worth a visit in sunny times and, as the hotel is near to the hotel but away from the runways and flight-paths, it's surprisingly quiet. The hotel is entirely non-smoking and offers Indian and English delicacies in its restaurant.
There are 50 rooms and business and family rooms are available with parking packages. Check out the luxurious jacuzzi rooms. Most of the hotel's packages come with one day's free parking, making it great for park, sleep and fly.

The Whitehall Hotel
Church End, Broxted, Dunmow, CM6 2BZ
This rather fine three-star hotel is a restored Elizabethan manor house, and a cut above your usual airport hotel. Check out the original timbered beam ceilings. The Whitehall Restaurant offers views over the hotel's gardens and terrace. The kitchen was originally designed by Gary Rhodes in the 1980's, but is now under the control of head chef Clinton Webb. There are 26 rooms, all of them en suite, including five superior rooms which are bigger and come with a separate free-standing shower in the bathroom (as opposed to over the tub). We've always wanted to try the Penthouse Suite. All rooms have chargeable wi-fi internet connection, but with room prices starting at £50 a night, you can hardly complain. Long-term parking deals are also available. Check it out.

I hope you enjoy our picks of the Stanstead Airport Hotels and that you have a pleasant stay and a great flight.
